Proper Mass in Thanksgiving to God

Sirach 50: 22-24

And now, bless the God of all,

who has done wondrous things on earth;

Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb,

and fashions them according to his will!

May he grant you joy of heart

and may peace abide among you;

May his goodness toward us endure in Israel

to deliver us in our days.

The Lord Gives, Thanks Give

The Lord gives us all that we are and all that we have.

The Lord gives us every moment and every breath.

The Lord gives us life and love.

Sing psalms of thanksgiving to the Lord!

I love thee, O LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer,
my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge,my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

My soul is feasted as with marrow and fat,
and my mouth praises thee with joyful lips,
when I think of thee upon my bed,
and meditate on thee in the watches of the night;
for thou hast been my help,
and in the shadow of thy wings I sing for joy.

It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
to sing praises to thy name, O Most High;
to declare thy steadfast love in the morning,
and thy faithfulness by night.
For thou, O LORD, hast made me glad by thy work;
at the works of thy hands I sing for joy.
How great are thy works, O LORD!

My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!
Awake, my soul!
Awake, O harp and lyre!
I will awake the dawn!
I will give thanks to thee, O LORD, among the peoples,
I will sing praises to thee among the nations.
For thy steadfast love is great above the heavens,
thy faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

Prayer

O God, when I have food.
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
Those who cry out for what we take for granted.
