Prayer (1)

Lord, it is so easy to get caught up in deadlines, events coming up, and worry about many things… Help me to focus on you and what you want for me. Help me to desire to be my best self and not get caught up in unhealthy or uncharitable ways of acting. May my hopes be one with Yours.

Thank you for the privilege of living in a democracy such as we have in the United States. Inspire all who will vote today to do so from the perspective You have for our country, its people and our world. May God bless us as we move hopefully into the future. AMDG.

Living With Hope (1)

Hope. That virtue of looking forward to a future with desire that things will be better; that I myself will be happier, more fulfilled, my best self. For students (and teachers), thinking about the future is a constant. There are projects, upcoming tests, finals, tournaments, proms, and college applications… We are always looking ahead.

For those who want to follow Jesus, his words and example inspire our hopes – for ourselves, our community and our country. As many go to the polls today to elect local and national leaders, we join our prayers with Titus and ask our God that we might be eager to do what is good. We ask God to help us be the people he calls us to be. We ask the same for our country.

Ti 2: 11-14 (1)

For the grace of God has appeared, saving all and training us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live temperately, justly, and devoutly in this age, as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory of the great God and of our savior Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us to deliver us from all lawlessness and to cleanse for himself a people as his own, eager to do what is good.
